The short answer: the right Scale Insights alternative depends on which of three billing models you can live with, not on which feature grid looks longest. Scale Insights charges a flat monthly fee keyed to the number of ASINs you automate — $78/month for five, $688/month for 100 — plus an optional 1% of ad spend plan for unlimited ASINs (scaleinsights.com/pricing, data checked 2026-08-27). Every competitor picks one of three structures: a flat fee (m19 Autopilot at $59/month, Ad Badger from $275/month), a cut of your ad spend (Teikametrics +3% over $10K, AiHello $199 + 2%, Perpetua $695 + an unpublished %), or no published price at all (Pacvue, Quartile, Trellis). At $100,000 of monthly ad spend the cheapest and dearest below differ by more than $3,000 a month for broadly similar work. All figures were checked 2026-08-27 against each vendor’s own page.
This page does not re-run the feature checklist — our Scale Insights review covers the rule engine, the learning curve and the interface complaints. What follows sorts nine tools by how they bill you, then asks the question that decides satisfaction: how much of the bidding do you still control? What Scale Insights charges in 2026
Scale Insights prices on automated ASINs, not catalogue size. Its pricing page is explicit: “ASIN quantity in your account doesn’t matter. Pay only for the ones you automate.” One automated ASIN covers one ASIN in one marketplace, so the same product in the US and Canada consumes two (scaleinsights.com/pricing, checked 2026-08-27).
| Plan | Automated ASINs | Billed monthly | Billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scale 5 | 5 | $78/mo | $748/yr |
| Scale 10 | 10 | $98/mo | $940/yr |
| Scale 20 | 20 | $178/mo | $1,708/yr |
| Scale 35 | 35 | $288/mo | $2,764/yr |
| Scale 50 | 50 | $388/mo | $3,724/yr |
| Scale 75 | 75 | $548/mo | $5,260/yr |
| Scale 100 | 100 | $688/mo | $6,604/yr |
| The 1% Plan | Unlimited | 1% of ad spend | 1% of ad spend |
Annual billing is marked -20%. Every tier ships the same capability set — algorithms, unlimited actions and ads insights are listed as included in all plans — so you buy headroom, not features. The free trial runs 30 days with no credit card, but the FAQ limits it: “you can only automate PPC for 1 product in 1 country.” The FAQ lists 12 supported marketplaces and states the tool “is best for FBA sellers.”
Two things drive sellers elsewhere. The ASIN-count model punishes wide catalogues: 60 SKUs across two marketplaces needs 120 automated ASINs, off the published ladder entirely. And the rule engine is demanding — 11 algorithm types, 200+ parameters — a feature if you want that control, a cost if you do not.
Three pricing models, one expensive decision
Most “best Amazon PPC software” lists mix these tools into one table and compare features. That hides the decision that shows up on your card statement. Three structures exist, and they fail in different places:
- Flat monthly fee. Predictable, and cheaper per dollar managed as you grow. Worst at small scale, where a fixed floor eats a double-digit share of a modest ad budget.
- Percentage of ad spend. Cheap while you are small, then linear forever — a 3% override on $200,000 of annual spend is $6,000 a year that never plateaus, and the vendor’s revenue rises when yours does.
- Quote-only, priced by seats, accounts or sales volume. Attached to managed service. You cannot budget without a sales call, and generally cannot leave mid-contract.
Scale Insights offers two of the three: an ASIN-keyed ladder (flat) and a 1% plan (percentage). Judge every alternative below against whichever you are on.
Group 1: flat monthly fees that ignore your ad spend
These bill the same whether you spend $2,000 or $200,000 this month — with one asterisk on Ad Badger, whose fee is flat within a band but steps up at band edges.
| Tool | Entry price | Priced by | Rate rises with ad spend? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scale Insights | $78/mo | Automated ASIN count | No |
| m19 Autopilot | $59/mo | Fixed fee, sub-$5K accounts | No |
| Ad Badger | $275/mo | Monthly ad-spend band | Stepped, not proportional |
m19 Autopilot is the cheapest credible replacement at the bottom of the market: 49€ / $59 per month, fixed fee, excl. VAT, recommended for sellers and vendors under $5K of monthly ad spend, with a 30-day free trial (m19.com/pricing-automated-ppc-campaigns, checked 2026-08-27 — note the URL, m19.com/pricing now 404s). Autopilot is deliberately narrow: the AI bids and you get few levers, the exact opposite of the Scale Insights proposition. Our m19 review covers the catch that Autopilot and Professional are separate products, not steps on a ladder.
Ad Badger publishes six flat bands keyed to monthly ad spend: $275/mo (up to $5,000), $440 (up to $25,000), $660 (up to $75,000), $920 (up to $225,000), $1,375 (up to $750,000) and $1,830 (up to $1.5M), with annual billing at roughly 23% off — $2,550/yr against $275/mo (adbadger.com/pricing, checked 2026-08-27). Managed services are quoted separately. Because the fee is flat inside a band, the worst place to stand is one dollar over an edge: $5,001 in spend moves you from $275 to $440, a 60% jump. Against Scale Insights it trades catalogue-independence for a high floor — it does not care how many ASINs you run, the natural answer for a wide catalogue at modest spend. See our Ad Badger review and Ad Badger alternatives .
Control here is high on Scale Insights and Ad Badger — both rule-based, you author the logic — and deliberately low on m19 Autopilot.
Group 2: fees that take a percentage of ad spend
Six offers take a slice of money you were going to spend anyway, alone or on top of a base fee.
| Tool | Base fee | Percentage | Threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scale Insights 1% Plan | none | 1% of ad spend | None; unlimited ASINs |
| Teikametrics Advanced | Custom | +3% of ad spend over $10K | Over $10K/mo |
| Helium 10 Ads | $279/mo (Diamond, annual) | 2% | See note below |
| AiHello | $199/mo per marketplace | 2% of ad spend | None published |
| m19 Professional | $479/mo excl. VAT | 3% of total ad spend | Above $5K/mo |
| Perpetua Growth | $695/mo | Unpublished % | Over $10K/mo |
Scale Insights’ own 1% Plan is the benchmark: 1% of monthly ad spend, unlimited ASINs. It beats the ASIN ladder for wide catalogues at low spend and loses at high spend — $1,000 at $100,000 of spend, against $688 for Scale 100.
Teikametrics publishes Essentials at $149/month billed annually or $179/month billed monthly for up to $10K/mo in ad spend, with a free trial; Advanced (over $10K/mo) and Enterprise (over $100K/mo) are both “Custom Pricing” plus "+3% of ad spend over $10K" (teikametrics.com/pricing, checked 2026-08-27). The override is published, the base is not, so a quote is unavoidable above $10K — see our Teikametrics alternatives breakdown.
Helium 10 Ads ships with Diamond ($279/month yearly, $359 monthly) or Elite; Platinum ($99/$129) does not include it (helium10.com/pricing, checked 2026-08-27). Flag one thing: the page carried two different statements about the 2% fee the day we checked. The FAQ reads “For our Diamond and Elite members, Helium 10 Ads is included at no extra cost. A 2% fee is assessed only on any PPC spend exceeding $20K each month,” while a separate line on the page reads “Diamond plan customers incur a 2% management fee on PPC spend managed through Helium 10 Ads.” The first implies a $20K exemption, the second does not — get it in writing. Our Helium 10 review covers the rest of the suite. Seats are priced too: Platinum adds one user, Diamond up to five.
AiHello publishes $199/month per marketplace + 2% of ad spend, with repricing and budgeting as add-ons at $10/SKU/month each, plus an unpriced Expert-managed tier (aihello.com/pricing, checked 2026-08-27). The multiplier matters: three marketplaces is $597/month before the percentage.
m19 Professional is 400€ + 3% / $479 + 3%, excl. VAT, per month above $5K of monthly spend, 30-day trial (checked 2026-08-27).
Perpetua lists Essentials at $695/mth up to 10k in monthly ad spend, Growth at “$695/mth + % of ad spend” above 10k, and Premium (price listed as “Custom”) above 500k (perpetua.io/pricing, checked 2026-08-27). The percentage is unpublished — press on it in the sales call.
Automation here skews algorithmic. Teikametrics, Perpetua and m19 Professional run AI bidding with account support; only Helium 10 Ads, which describes itself as rules-based bulk campaign management, works anything like Scale Insights.
Group 3: quote-only platforms priced by account, seat or sales volume
Three well-known names publish no dollar figure at all as of 2026-08-27.
Trellis is the most transparent about being opaque: “Fixed monthly price based on marketplace sales. No hidden fees. Get a quote.” Its FAQ offers two arrangements — a monthly subscription whose “pricing plans are different for every client,” or a “flat monthly fee; price locked in for 1 year regardless of account growth.” There is no standard free trial. Our Trellis PPC pricing page tracks what sellers report paying.
Quartile has no separate pricing page — /pricing 301s back to the homepage, which lists no price. It sells platform plus full service, its homepage promising “a team of experts working proactively” on every account — see Quartile alternatives .
Pacvue publishes nothing: /pricing and /plans both 404 and its sitemap lists no pricing URL as of 2026-08-27. It is an enterprise retail-media platform, quoted per account.
For all three, the honest line is not published as fixed tiers — contact sales; treat any third-party figure as unverified. Note the control trade too: an account team runs strategy, the furthest possible position from writing your own rules.
Amazon’s own Campaign Manager is the zero baseline — no platform fee, no band, no percentage, and all of the work.
What each Scale Insights alternative costs at three spend levels
Monthly billing unless noted; the arithmetic is ours, the inputs are the vendor figures above, checked 2026-08-27. Scale Insights rows assume a plausible catalogue at each level, since it prices by ASIN not spend.
| Monthly ad spend | Scale Insights tier | Scale Insights 1% | Ad Badger | m19 | Teikametrics | Helium 10 Ads | AiHello | Perpetua |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $3,000 | $78 (Scale 5) | $30 | $275 | $59 | $179 | $359 | $259 | $695 |
| $20,000 | $178 (Scale 20) | $200 | $440 | $1,079 | Custom + $300 | $359 | $599 | $695 + % |
| $100,000 | $388 (Scale 50) | $1,000 | $920 | $3,479 | Custom + $2,700 | $1,959 | $2,199 | $695 + % |
Notes: m19 rows above $5K use Professional at $479 + 3%. Teikametrics rows show only the published 3% override above $10K; the custom base is extra and unpublished. Helium 10 rows use $359 monthly-billed Diamond and read the FAQ’s 2% as applying to the portion above $20K — on the page’s other wording the $100,000 row would be $2,359. AiHello assumes one marketplace. Perpetua’s percentage is unpublished, so two rows stay open.
The pattern is blunt: Scale Insights’ ASIN ladder is the cheapest published structure at every level here, provided your catalogue fits the tier. Which is why most people searching for an alternative are not searching on price — the catalogue does not fit, or the rule engine asks more than they want to give.
How much manual control you keep
Pricing model and automation style are correlated, and not by accident. Tools that let you author the logic need not know your ad spend — they sell a machine. Tools that take a percentage sell an outcome, and to deliver one they need the wheel.
Rule-based, you write the logic: Scale Insights and Ad Badger. You define conditions and actions, stack them, audit what fired. Scale Insights sits at the extreme end — 11 algorithm types across bidding, dayparting, placement, harvesting and negation, plus preview of upcoming changes and step-by-step calculation review. If that transparency is why you bought it, only Ad Badger comes close among flat-fee options.
Hybrid: Helium 10 Ads, described on its own page as rules-based bulk campaign creation and management. Less granular than Scale Insights, same basic contract — you set policy, it executes at scale.
Algorithmic, the model decides: m19, Teikametrics, Perpetua, AiHello, Quartile, Pacvue and Trellis. You set targets — ACoS, TACoS, growth goals — and the system bids. Faster to start, much harder to diagnose when a campaign misbehaves.
If you are leaving because the rule builder was too much work, moving to another rule builder solves nothing; go algorithmic. If you are leaving over price or catalogue fit, do not accidentally give up the control you liked. Bid automation is also only one profit lever — price automation is the other, with parallel trade-offs; see Seller Snap alternatives for that side of the stack and the Amazon PPC guide for the fundamentals.
How to choose a Scale Insights alternative
- Narrow catalogue, low spend, you want control: you are already on the cheapest thing. Scale 5 at $78 is hard to beat; m19 Autopilot at $59 undercuts it only by taking the controls away.
- Wide catalogue, low-to-mid spend: this is the real Scale Insights weakness. The 1% Plan or Ad Badger’s band pricing both stop charging you per product.
- Mid spend, tired of writing rules: Teikametrics Essentials at $149 annually is the cheapest published on-ramp to algorithmic bidding; Helium 10 Diamond makes sense if you already pay for the suite.
- Over $75K in monthly spend: flat structures win decisively. Ad Badger’s bands and Scale Insights’ top tiers both beat every percentage-based rival by a wide margin.
- You need DSP, AMC or multi-retailer media: no flat-fee tool covers it. That is the one honest reason to accept a quote-only platform.
