The short answer: the best eDesk alternative depends on which line on your invoice is growing. eDesk charges per user — $39 per user/month billed annually, $49 billed monthly on its entry plan — so cost scales with headcount, not workload. If your team is growing, Gorgias prices by ticket volume and states plainly that it is “never priced per agent.” If your team is small but you sell on several marketplaces, ChannelReply ($31/month billed annually, unlimited users) pipes Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Etsy messages into a helpdesk you already pay for. If you want a native marketplace inbox for nothing, ReplyDesk has a genuinely free single-agent plan. All pricing on this page was checked on the vendors’ official pricing pages on 2026-08-08.
eDesk is a real product with real strengths — it was purpose-built for marketplace sellers, not retrofitted from a generic B2B helpdesk, and that shows in how it handles Amazon and eBay message threading. The reason sellers shop around is almost always structural: the pricing model, not the software.
What eDesk Costs in 2026
eDesk’s public pricing page (checked 2026-08-08) lists four tiers, priced per user/month, with a toggle marked “Billed annually / Billed monthly” and a “20% off annual” label.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Channel limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $39 per user/mo | $49 per user/mo | 1 online store/marketplace |
| Growth | $89 per user/mo | $115 per user/mo | 5 online stores/marketplaces |
| Professional | $119 per user/mo | $149 per user/mo | 10 stores/marketplaces, 2 free read-only users |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited channels |
Two details matter more than the headline numbers. First, the channel limit is tied to the tier: a seller running Amazon US, Amazon UK, eBay and a Shopify store cannot stay on Essential at all, regardless of team size. Second, eDesk’s AI Agent is “included in every plan” but billed on outcomes — $0.99 per outcome, which the page defines as “Charged once per ticket” for “A reply, or a real action.” That is a usage line item on top of the seat line item, so a two-agent shop on Growth handling 500 AI-resolved tickets a month is looking at $178 in seats plus up to $495 in AI outcomes.
eDesk offers a “14-day full-feature free trial” with “No credit card required,” plus a 30-day guarantee. For context on the wider brand family, eDesk also owns the repricing tool covered in our Repricer.com alternatives guide and the legacy product behind our RepricerExpress review .
Why Sellers Look for an eDesk Alternative
We read eDesk’s public reviews on Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra for this article. These are third-party reviewer accounts rather than our own hands-on benchmark, but three themes repeat across independent posts, and each points at a different replacement.
The per-user model, and what it does over time
The loudest complaint is not the sticker price — it is the direction of travel. One 1-star Trustpilot reviewer (posted 2023-10-31) described the shift directly: “When we became a customer of eDesk, it started with the promise of unlimited users, which has since capsized into a per-user model, a dramatic shift that came without a reciprocal adjustment in cost.” The same reviewer wrote: “Over three years, we’ve seen a staggering 47% increase in our rate with a 10% increase only 8 months ago.” Capterra reviewers describe the same pattern in milder terms — year-after-year price increases accompanied by features that smaller businesses did not necessarily need.
If this is your complaint, the fix is a pricing model that does not multiply by headcount. Gorgias meters tickets. ChannelReply and ReplyDesk’s paid tiers allow unlimited or cheap additional users.
AI you pay for but may not use
G2 reviewers describe eDesk as pricier than ordinary mailbox solutions and consider its AI features quite expensive. Capterra reviewers go further, reporting that the heavily promoted AI is a feature they never actually use. Combined with the $0.99-per-outcome meter, that is worth testing during the trial before you budget for it.
Integration and reporting ceilings
Capterra reviewers report that eDesk has no API and limited further integration capability, and G2 reviewers note a lack of customization in reporting dashboards and difficulty locating older messages. Notably, some reviewers also say the Amazon marketplace integration feels limited compared with eDesk’s other channels — which is worth knowing if Amazon is the reason you are buying it.
Balance matters here: reviewers of eDesk’s sibling repricer volunteered praise for the helpdesk itself, with one 3-star Trustpilot post from 2023-04-01 saying “Their eDesk product is amazing, which is why we went with Repricer.” The product is not the problem for most leavers. The invoice is.
The Six Alternatives at a Glance
All figures below come from each vendor’s official pricing page, checked 2026-08-08. Where a vendor shows both billing columns, we list the annual-equivalent monthly rate first.

|---|---|---|---|
| ChannelReply | $31/mo annually ($39 monthly) | Messages; unlimited users | Yes (bridges into your helpdesk) |
| Re:amaze | $26.10 per user/mo annually ($29 monthly) | Per team member | Not listed natively |
| Gorgias | $40/mo (Starter, monthly only) | Tickets, not agents | Not listed natively |
| ReplyDesk | Free (1 agent) / $29 per agent/mo annually | Per agent | Yes |
| Replyco | $9/mo (1–3 users, 50 tickets) | Plan tickets + overage | Yes |
| Help Scout | Free (5 users) / $25 per user/mo | Per user | Not listed natively |
| eDesk (baseline) | $39 per user/mo annually | Per user | Yes |
ChannelReply: Keep Your Helpdesk, Add the Marketplaces
ChannelReply is not a helpdesk. It is the bridge that makes a helpdesk you already have speak Amazon, eBay and Walmart — which is why it is the cheapest structural answer to eDesk’s per-seat model.
Pricing (official page, checked 2026-08-08) is metered on inbound messages, with a “Save up to 20%” annual toggle: Standard $31/month billed annually ($39 monthly) for 200 messages plus $0.05 per extra message; Pro $63/month annually ($79 monthly) for 1,000 messages plus $0.04 each; Enterprise $159/month annually ($199 monthly) for 4,000 messages plus $0.03 each. Every plan lists Unlimited Users — the single most important difference from eDesk. Your replies do not count against the limit, and Shopify messages are free.
Supported marketplaces on all plans: Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, Shopify, Back Market, Newegg and WooCommerce. Each subscription includes one helpdesk integration, chosen from Zendesk, Gorgias, Freshdesk, Re:amaze, Help Scout, Zoho Desk or Kustomer. (The page notes the Shopify integration is not available for Gorgias.) The trial is 14 days with no credit card, backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The same company sells CR Feedback separately for automated eBay and Amazon feedback requests — $23/month billed annually ($29 monthly) for up to 5,000 requests, rising to $79/month annually for 60,000 — and its FAQ states it works standalone without ChannelReply or a helpdesk. If review requests are your actual goal rather than inbox triage, compare it against the dedicated tools in our Amazon review and feedback workflow hub and our guide to the Request a Review process .
Re:amaze: The Low Per-Seat Option
Re:amaze is a full ecommerce helpdesk at roughly two-thirds of eDesk’s per-seat rate. Official pricing (checked 2026-08-08): Basic $26.10 per team member/month billed annually ($29 monthly), Pro $44.10 annually ($49 monthly), Plus $62.10 annually ($69 monthly), all with a 10% annual saving. There is also a flat-rate Starter at $59/month with unlimited team members but a cap of 500 responded conversations per month — the plan to look at if you have many occasional responders and modest volume. The trial is “14 Days Free Trial” with “No Contracts. No Obligations. No Credit Card Needed.”
The caveat is coverage. Re:amaze’s integrations page (checked 2026-08-08) names Shopify, BigCommerce, WordPress and Stripe — no native Amazon or eBay marketplace messaging. Re:amaze is, however, one of ChannelReply’s supported helpdesks, so the marketplace path is Basic at $26.10 per seat plus ChannelReply from $31/month. For a one- or two-person team that still lands under eDesk Growth.
Gorgias: Priced by Ticket, Not by Agent
Gorgias is the direct structural answer to the per-seat complaint. Its pricing page states the helpdesk “scales from 50 to 5,000 tickets a month, never priced per agent,” and that the AI Agent sits on every plan where you “pay only when it resolves a conversation.”
Published tiers (checked 2026-08-08) break each plan into a helpdesk component and an AI Agent component:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Included | Overage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Monthly billing only | $40/mo | 50 tickets, 30 automated interactions | $0.40/ticket |
| Basic | $77/mo ($924/yr) | $90/mo | 300 tickets, 30 automated interactions | $0.40/ticket |
| Pro | $471/mo ($5,652/yr) | $550/mo | 2,000 tickets, 190 automated interactions | $0.36/ticket |
| Advanced | $1,227/mo ($14,724/yr) | $1,430/mo | 5,000 tickets, 530 automated interactions | $0.36/ticket |
On the annual column, Basic splits into $50/month helpdesk plus $27/month AI Agent; Pro into $300 plus $171. AI overage runs $1.50 per automated interaction past the limit. The step from Basic to Pro is steep, so the decision point is whether your monthly ticket count sits near 300 or near 2,000 — between those, overage arithmetic decides. Gorgias does not list native Amazon or eBay messaging either; it is a supported ChannelReply destination.
ReplyDesk: A Free Tier That Is Actually Free
ReplyDesk is the closest like-for-like replacement in shape — a native marketplace helpdesk rather than a bridge — and it is the only tool here with a real free plan. Official pricing (checked 2026-08-08): Essential is free with 1 agent, 2 selling channels and unlimited tickets; Professional is $29 per agent/month billed yearly, $39 monthly, with unlimited channels; Growth is $159/month billed yearly ($199 monthly) including 15 agent slots. The page displayed a “33% Discount on all yearly plans” promotion when checked, so confirm whether the $29 rate is promotional before you budget on it.
Listed channels cover Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce. At $29 per agent against eDesk’s $39, with unlimited channels instead of one, a three-agent multichannel seller pays $87/month here versus $267 on eDesk Growth.
Replyco: Cheap Entry, Watch the Ticket Meter
Replyco publishes a T-shirt-sized tier structure with the same figure shown in dollars, euros and pounds (checked 2026-08-08): S at $9/month for 1–3 users and 50 tickets; M at $49/month for 4–7 users and 350 tickets; L at $299/month for 8–15 users and 2,500 tickets; XL custom for 16+. Overage is $0.32 per ticket on S and M, $0.30 on L. Extra users are expensive relative to the base — $65/month on S, $55 on M, $45 on L — which inverts the usual logic and makes the plan tiers, not the seat add-ons, your lever.
Listed integrations cover Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce and Facebook, and all plans include AI assistance, live chat, WhatsApp, eBay cases and feedback management. The $9 entry is the lowest paid price in this comparison, but 50 tickets is genuinely small: at 300 tickets a month, S costs $9 plus 250 overage tickets at $0.32, or $89 — the same as eDesk Growth for one user. Model your real ticket count before treating it as the budget option.
Help Scout: General-Purpose Desk, Marketplace by Bridge
Help Scout is not built for marketplaces, but it is well-built, and the free plan makes it a cheap base layer. Official pricing (checked 2026-08-08): a Free plan for 5 users with 1 inbox and 100 contacts/month; Standard at $25 per user/month (up to 25 users); Plus at $45 per user/month (up to 50); Pro at $75 per user/month (unlimited, minimum 10). Annual billing takes 16% off, and the AI Answers add-on is $0.75 per resolution with a 3-month free trial. Trials on Standard and Plus run 15 days with no credit card.
The marketplace path is ChannelReply, which lists Help Scout as a supported helpdesk. Pair Standard with ChannelReply Standard and a solo seller covering four marketplaces pays $56/month — versus $89 on eDesk Growth, which is the lowest eDesk tier that covers more than one marketplace.
What Three Seller Profiles Actually Pay
The table below is arithmetic on published list prices as checked on 2026-08-08 — not vendor quotes, and not our own account invoices. Annual billing is assumed where a vendor offers it.
| Setup | eDesk | Cheapest alternative | Monthly difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 agent, 1 marketplace, 200 messages | $39 (Essential) | ReplyDesk Essential, free (2 channels) | −$39 |
| 1 agent, 4 marketplaces, 200 messages | $89 (Growth) | ChannelReply $31 + Help Scout $25 = $56 | −$33 |
| 3 agents, 4 marketplaces, 1,000 messages | $267 (Growth ×3) | ReplyDesk Professional $29 ×3 = $87 | −$180 |
The pattern is consistent: eDesk’s cost curve bends on agents and channels, while the alternatives bend on volume. If your ticket count is high and your team is small, eDesk can genuinely be the cheaper answer — Growth at $89 for one user covering five marketplaces beats Replyco S once you pass roughly 300 tickets. If your team is larger than your ticket count suggests, almost anything here is cheaper.
How to Choose, and What to Check Before You Migrate
Work in this order. First, count agents and channels, not features — that pair decides your tier on every tool here, and it is where eDesk bills hardest. Second, count tickets for one real month, including your peak week; Gorgias, Replyco and ChannelReply all meter volume, and an averaged estimate will understate a Q4 invoice. Third, decide whether AI resolution is a line you want — eDesk at $0.99 per outcome, Gorgias at $1.50 per automated interaction past the limit, and Help Scout at $0.75 per resolution are all usage meters, and reviewers’ complaints about paying for AI they never use apply to all three.
Then check three migration details that pricing pages do not answer: whether your marketplace message history exports, whether Amazon’s messaging response-time clock keeps running during cutover, and whether your saved replies and tags transfer. Every tool here offers a free trial — 14 days for eDesk, ChannelReply and Re:amaze, 15 for Help Scout — so run both systems in parallel for one full week before you cancel anything.
If negative feedback rather than inbox volume is what is driving the search, the tooling question is different: see our guides on removing negative Amazon feedback and the Amazon seller rating . And if you are consolidating tools generally, our true monthly cost comparison tracks seats, caps and overages across the seller stack, using the criteria described on our scorecards page .
