To get raw Amazon autocomplete terms on screen with the fewest clicks, an amazon search suggestion expander built as a browser extension wins: AMZ Suggestion Expander widens the search-bar dropdown in place, with no seed-by-seed round trip through a web app. To get those terms into a spreadsheet at $0, the ranking inverts — Keyword Tool Dominator is the only tool here that publishes a free allowance you can plan against (“2 searches per day per keyword source”, keywordtooldominator.com/pricing, checked 2026-07-31) and it lets free accounts export. The extensions render terms fast and keep the download behind a paywall.
That trade-off is the whole decision in this category, and no vendor page frames it. Every allowance, price and marketplace list below was read off the vendor’s own page on 2026-07-31 and is quoted with that date. Where a vendor publishes no number — including the paid tier of the best-known extension — this page says so instead of filling the gap.
What an amazon search suggestion expander actually does
Amazon’s search box suggests completions as you type, drawn from what shoppers actually searched. An amazon search suggestion expander harvests that stream: either widening what the dropdown displays, or iterating your seed against Amazon’s suggestion service to collect far more than a person would type by hand.
Two structural properties matter before you buy anything. No search volume comes attached — autocomplete proves a phrase exists and shows its prominence in Amazon’s own ordering, not how many people type it; every tool below that shows volume is joining the suggestion list to a separate estimated-volume dataset with its own error profile. And this is not rank tracking — expanding suggestions builds the list of terms you might target, while recording whether you moved on a term you already chose is the opposite job, metered and priced differently in our Amazon keyword tracker comparison . Buying one when you needed the other is the most common mis-purchase in the keyword category.
For where suggestion expansion sits in a full research stack, start at the keyword research workflow hub . For a ranked list of general-purpose Amazon keyword tools rather than autocomplete specialists, amzbase maintains that comparison in its Amazon keyword tools guide .
The tools still live in this category
| Tool | Where it runs | Published free allowance | Paid entry | Marketplaces published | Source (checked 2026-07-31) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AMZ Suggestion Expander | Chrome extension, in the search bar | Free tier, no per-day cap published; export is Pro-only | Pro exists, price not published | “US, CA, MX, UK, DE, FR, IT, AU and ES markets” | Chrome Web Store listing |
| AMZ Search Suggestion Expander (EcomStal) | Chrome extension, on the results page | “The free edition restricts the ability to filter suggestions but displays them all.” | Premium named, no price published | No marketplace list; “adjusts to your local Amazon platform, whether you’re selling in the US, UK, Germany, or somewhere else” | Chrome Web Store listing |
| Keyword Tool Dominator | Web app | “2 searches per day per keyword source”; export after creating an account | Plus, $99 one-time for 1 year | 22 Amazon countries in the dropdown | keywordtooldominator.com |
| Keyword Tool (keywordtool.io) | Web app | Hundreds of suggestions in autocomplete order, no volume data | Starter $88/month, or $68/month billed annually | “all the countries and markets where Amazon operates” | keywordtool.io |
| Ahrefs Free Keyword Generator | Web app | Free; Amazon is one of nine engines; “up to ten words or phrases” per search | Not required for the free generator | Not enumerated for Amazon | ahrefs.com/keyword-generator |
| Helium 10 Magnet | Suite, web + extension | Free plan exists; no Magnet allowance published | Platinum $129/month, $99/month billed annually | Page heading names Amazon and Walmart; no marketplace list in the page source | helium10.com |
| Jungle Scout Keyword Scout | Suite | None — 7-day money-back guarantee only | Starter, $348/year | “all Amazon marketplaces around the world” | junglescout.com |
Three findings in that table decide most purchases.
Only one vendor publishes a free number. Everyone else publishes no cap (both extensions, Magnet) or has no free door at all (Keyword Scout). “No cap published” is not generosity — it means you cannot plan around it, and it can change without a pricing-page edit.
The paywall sits on export, not on discovery. Both extensions show suggestions free and charge for the download; keywordtool.io shows hundreds free and charges for volume and CSV. If your bottleneck is getting 300 phrases into a sheet for clustering, the extensions’ free tiers do not solve it however fast they render.
The category’s best-known tool does not publish its price. AMZ Suggestion Expander’s Chrome Web Store listing describes a Pro version with keyword download and search-volume estimates but states no cost; its developer’s own tools page (raybeksolutions.com/tools/) lists the extension with no Pro pricing, and the Gumroad checkout returned only the product title to our fetch on 2026-07-31. Third-party write-ups quote $9.97/month and $18.99/month — two numbers, neither traceable to the vendor. Treat the price as unpublished and confirm it at checkout.
What “fastest” actually means here
No vendor in this category publishes a latency figure, a suggestions-per-seed figure, or a refresh interval, so any ranking claiming one is inventing it. Three published properties govern how long a keyword pass really takes:
- Whether you leave the page. An extension widening the dropdown adds zero navigation; a web app costs a page load and a paste per seed. Across 30 seeds that gap is the entire argument for the extension form factor.
- How many seeds the free tier allows. Two per day per source is an exploration tool, not a workflow. Dominator’s Plus tier lifts it to “50 real-time keyword searches per day” for a one-time $99 covering one year and one keyword tool; Pro is $149 for five tools and 100 searches/day; Max is $199 for all eight tools and “Unlimited real-time keyword searches” (keywordtooldominator.com/pricing, checked 2026-07-31).
- Whether terms come out as a file. Retyping is where a 20-minute pass becomes a 90-minute one. Free-tier export exists for Dominator (after signup, as CSV, CSV-for-Excel or TSV) and for neither extension.
The fast path at $0 therefore splits across two tools: an extension to test whether a niche has depth, a web app to capture the list you will work with.
Tool by tool
AMZ Suggestion Expander — expansion without leaving the search bar
The category default by a wide margin: 200,000 users, 3.2 out of 5 from 107 ratings, version 2.1.50, last updated 2025-08-18, published by Raybek Solutions (Chrome Web Store listing, checked 2026-07-31). It shows the keywords Amazon would suggest before and after your term as you arrow through the dropdown, across “US, CA, MX, UK, DE, FR, IT, AU and ES markets”; Pro adds keyword download and volume estimates at an unpublished price. Read the 3.2 rating against the install base: a free utility with 200,000 users and a middling score usually works and occasionally breaks against Amazon’s front-end changes, the normal life of a DOM-dependent extension.
Best for fast niche probing while you browse.
AMZ Search Suggestion Expander (EcomStal) — same idea, far smaller
A separate extension with a near-identical name, easy to confuse in search results. It expands the suggestions on the results page — pitched as seeing “EVERY recommendation that Amazon conceals behind its search results” — free for all suggestions, premium for filtering, export and competition analysis. Its 4.6 score rests on 9 ratings across 1,000 users, and version 3.4.3 was last updated 2024-11-17 (listing checked 2026-07-31); for a tool depending on Amazon’s markup, that date is a capability fact.
Best for a fallback when the more popular expander stops rendering.
Keyword Tool Dominator — the only published free number
A web app “Powered by live Amazon autocomplete”, serving real-time suggestions rather than stored estimates, with four modes — Normal, Precise, Broad, Experimental — controlling how far a seed expands (keywordtooldominator.com/k/amazon-keyword-tool/, checked 2026-07-31). Its Amazon country dropdown lists 22 marketplaces, from the US and UK through Japan, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Poland and Turkey: the widest published Amazon coverage here. Pricing is the odd one out — not a subscription but “One-Time Payment for 1 Year Access” at $99 (Plus, one tool, 50 searches/day), $149 (Pro, five tools, 100/day) and $199 (Max, all eight tools, unlimited) — and one account also covers Google, YouTube, eBay and Walmart, so per-platform cost drops sharply for multi-channel sellers.
Best for anyone who needs an exportable list today, and sellers outside the US–UK–DE core.
Keyword Tool (keywordtool.io) — free breadth, paid numbers
Keyword Tool builds its Amazon output from the “Amazon search suggest function” and returns results in autocomplete order, so more prominent phrases sit higher — a useful default when you have no volume data. Free gives hundreds of suggestions with no volume attached; estimated volume, 12 months of trend data, bulk upload of up to 1,000 keywords, CSV/Excel export and API access are Pro (keywordtool.io/amazon, checked 2026-07-31). Pro is also the priciest option here — Starter $88/month or $68 billed annually, Growth $188/$148, Scale $388/$308, Agency $788/$628, metered as 50/100/200/400 daily requests (keywordtool.io/pro, checked 2026-07-31) — and every tier bundles all 15 platforms, so an Amazon-only seller pays for fourteen they will not open.
Best for the free tier as a breadth generator; Pro pays off only for multi-platform teams.
Ahrefs Free Keyword Generator — ten seeds, clickstream numbers
Ahrefs’ free generator supports Amazon as one of nine engines and returns volume estimates powered by clickstream data — the only free tool here pairing suggestions with numbers. The published limit is on input: “up to ten words or phrases” per search, with no total result cap stated and no Amazon marketplace list on the tool page (ahrefs.com/keyword-generator, checked 2026-07-31). An Amazon-mode estimate from a Google-first dataset is not the same measurement as a phrase’s position in Amazon’s own ordering, so use it to sort your list, not as a purchase-decision figure.
Best for a first pass when you want numeric ordering for free.
Helium 10 Magnet — a free door into a metered suite
Magnet is where sellers usually graduate once free expanders stop being enough. Its product page runs a “Free, High-Quality Keyword Research” box accepting “a seed term or ASIN”, under the page heading “Amazon and Walmart Keyword Planner” — the marketplace selector itself is script-rendered, so the page source publishes no per-marketplace list (checked 2026-07-31) — and it never names autocomplete as a source, describing output only as turning one keyword into hundreds of related terms real buyers use (helium10.com/tools/keyword-research/magnet/ , checked 2026-07-31). Treat Magnet as a keyword database with a free entrance, not a suggestion scraper. Paid tiers, read off the pricing page on 2026-07-31: Platinum $129/month or $99 billed annually, Diamond $359/$279, Enterprise from $1,499/month billed annually. The free plan exists — “Access is limited with the Free plan” for the Chrome extension — but publishes no keyword-research allowance, so free capacity is unverifiable before signup. At suite level, full Profit & Loss reporting starts at Diamond; Platinum carries only limited profit reporting. Our Helium 10 review covers the rest, with tiers on its pricing page .
One documented pricing risk: a Trustpilot reviewer wrote on 2026-05-07 that Helium 10 “got rid of the $39/month a la carte options for Cerebro and other individual tools”, as a service provider using only the keyword research tool. That is one user account, not a vendor statement, but it names the failure mode: a cheap à-la-carte route into a suite can close, leaving the full plan as the only door.
Best for sellers who want reverse-ASIN and listing tooling behind one login.
Jungle Scout Keyword Scout — no free door
Access starts at Starter, $348/year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee and no free tier. Its distinguishing published feature is advertising data — cost-per-click “for keywords in exact, broad, and headline search ads” — plus search across all Amazon marketplaces (junglescout.com/features/keyword-scout/ , checked 2026-07-31). The page cites “millions of data points” without naming autocomplete among them.
Best for keyword work that feeds PPC bids, where CPC data saves a second tool.
Two tools this category already lost
Both are still recommended in circulation, including in our own older list post. Verified 2026-07-31:
- Sonar (originally a Sellics feature, now under Perpetua) opens with “We’re sorry, but this feature is no longer available.” The page still advertises 180+ million keywords from real Amazon shoppers for Amazon US and DE — live marketing copy on a dead product (perpetua.io/sonar-amazon-keyword-tool/).
- Scientific Seller, the free tool famous for grinding a single seed for hours to reach terms nobody else surfaced, states: “It is with mixed feelings that I announce that we are closing down Scientific Seller.” Its footer copyright ends at 2018 (scientificseller.com).
Our Amazon keyword tools roundup still lists both; this comparison supersedes those two entries. The lesson is priced into the table above: free single-purpose keyword tools have the shortest half-life of any tool class Amazon sellers use, because nothing funds their maintenance. Keep the method portable and treat any individual expander as replaceable.
The 8-dimension scorecard
Every tool on amzfinder is scored on the same eight dimensions; the method is on our scorecards page . One rule governs this table: a dash means no public, datable evidence was found for that cell, and it is not filled with a guess. In a category built largely of free utilities, most cells are dashes — which is itself the finding.
| Dimension | AMZ Sugg. Expander | EcomStal | Kw Tool Dominator | keywordtool.io | Ahrefs free | H10 Magnet | Keyword Scout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | — | — | — | — | — | 3 | 2 |
| Ease | 4 | — | 3 | 3 | 4 | 2 | 3 |
| Depth | 2 | 1 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 5 | 4 |
| Automation | 1 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 1 | — | — |
| Team Fit | — | — | — | — | — | 2 | 3 |
| Support | — | — | — | — | — | 2 | 2 |
| Pricing | — | — | 5 | 2 | 5 | 2 | 4 |
| Stage Fit | Foundation | Foundation | Foundation–Growth | Growth / multi-platform | Foundation | Growth–Enterprise | Foundation–Growth |
Accuracy is dashed for all five specialists, deliberately. Autocomplete is a live feed, so accuracy would mean fidelity to what Amazon returns, and no vendor publishes a method or a sample. The Helium 10 and Jungle Scout scores are suite-level, read off the scorecard on our Amazon SEO tools comparison , where the dated public evidence behind every cell is quoted in full — Accuracy 3 and 2, Ease 2 and 3, Depth 5 and 4, Team Fit 2 and 3, Support 2 each, Pricing 2 and 4. One column is deliberately re-scored for this page instead of carried across: Automation, narrowed here to export and programmatic access for keyword output, where both suites are dashed rather than taking the 4 each earns there on suite-wide tracking quotas. Support and Team Fit follow the same rule: no specialist here publishes a seat count or a support channel, so only the two suites score.
Depth follows published coverage for the five specialists, while the two suites carry their suite-level scores. Dominator takes 4 on 22 published Amazon countries, keywordtool.io 4 on all Amazon markets plus 1,000-keyword bulk upload; the extensions take 2 and 1 — AMZ Suggestion Expander names nine markets, while the EcomStal listing enumerates none, saying only that the tool adjusts to your local Amazon platform.
Automation scores export and programmatic access. keywordtool.io leads at 5 as the only tool publishing API and MCP access; Dominator takes 3 for free-tier CSV/TSV export; both extensions take 1 with no export without paying; Magnet and Keyword Scout are dashed, as neither product page states export or API terms for keyword output. Pricing scores published transparency, not cheapness: Dominator’s flat one-time year and Ahrefs’ free generator take 5, keywordtool.io 2 on the highest entry price here, and the extensions are dashed because an unpublished price cannot be scored.
What no listing page will tell you
Three properties decide whether an expander survives real work, and no vendor here publishes any of them. How many suggestions per seed you get — not one states a number, and the gap between 10 rows and 300 rows is the entire product. Whether the expansion still renders today — these extensions depend on Amazon’s markup, so an unmaintained one shows nothing after a search-bar change; check the last-updated date first (2025-08-18 for AMZ Suggestion Expander, 2024-11-17 for the EcomStal one). Whether marketplace coverage means the interface or the data — nine flags in a selector does not guarantee equal suggestion depth per locale, and nobody breaks depth out by marketplace.
A keyword pass that survives tool churn
Draft 8–10 seeds by hand first — the product noun, two synonyms a shopper might use instead of your category term, three use-case phrases from your own reviews; autocomplete expands seeds, it does not invent them. Probe each with an extension, cutting dead seeds before you spend metered searches. Export the survivors from a web app, using autocomplete order as your free first prioritisation. Attach volume data only to cluster heads after clustering — buying it for a whole raw export is where most spend goes.
Which tool fits which seller
- Probing niches while you browse — AMZ Suggestion Expander, free. Zero navigation is unbeatable for deciding whether a seed deserves a session; accept that export sits behind an unpublished price.
- An exportable list at the lowest cost — Keyword Tool Dominator. The only published free allowance, free-tier export after signup, the widest published Amazon country list, and $99 one-time for a year when two searches a day stops being enough.
- Free breadth without a card — keywordtool.io free tier. Skip Pro unless you sell on several platforms.
- Already outgrown suggestions — Helium 10 Platinum. Buy it for reverse-ASIN research and listing tooling, not for autocomplete; our stage-based stack pages show how it fits a full toolset.
- Keyword work that feeds PPC — Jungle Scout Keyword Scout, from $348/year. CPC data beside the term list is the reason to pay, and there is no free door to test first.
One free option sits outside this comparison: if you hold a trademark, Amazon Brand Analytics reports actual customer search terms through Brand Registry at no cost — Amazon’s own page describes Brand Registry as a free program requiring a pending or registered trademark, with Brand Analytics letting you analyse trends in customers’ searches and purchases (sell.amazon.com/brand-registry, checked 2026-07-29; the same evidence is quoted in our Amazon SEO tools comparison ). It reports what was searched rather than expanding a seed, so it complements this category rather than replacing it.
amzfinder is reader-supported. When you buy through the Helium 10 link on this page, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — it never changes which tools we recommend or how we score them. Last updated: July 2026.
FAQ: Amazon suggestion expanders
Is there a genuinely free Amazon autocomplete tool in 2026? Yes, several, with different limits. Keyword Tool Dominator publishes “2 searches per day per keyword source” and allows export after you create an account; keywordtool.io returns hundreds of Amazon suggestions free but no volume data; Ahrefs’ free keyword generator supports Amazon and accepts up to ten seed phrases per search; both Chrome extensions display suggestions free and charge for download (all checked 2026-07-31).
Is AMZ Suggestion Expander Pro worth paying for? Its Chrome Web Store listing says Pro adds keyword download and search-volume estimates but publishes no price, and neither does the developer’s tools page or its Gumroad checkout as of 2026-07-31; third-party sources quote two different monthly figures. Confirm the price at checkout, and compare it against Keyword Tool Dominator’s Plus tier at $99 one-time for a year, which publishes both its price and its daily allowance.
Do suggestion expanders tell me whether my listing is indexed for a term? No. Autocomplete tells you a phrase exists in Amazon’s suggestion stream and says nothing about your listing. Indexation is covered in our Amazon SEO tools comparison , and position over time in the keyword tracker comparison .
